At a funeral or celebration of life, a tribute video — or memorial slideshow — tells the story of a life in pictures. It plays during the visitation, the service or the reception, then remains a keepsake the family shares for years. With Imarama, you create it yourself in minutes, from the photos you already have, with no editing software.
Why a tribute video rather than a basic slideshow?
- Studio quality: polished transitions, colour mood, subtle movement — and every photo stays whole, with no cropped faces.
- Music and a voice: up to 5 music tracks played back to back with no silence, plus optional narration — a recorded message, or a poem read by a loved one.
- An opening title and closing text: the person's name, their dates, or a thank-you note.
- A permanent link: relatives who couldn't attend can watch from anywhere, today or ten years from now.
The QR code: the video on the memorial card or program
Every Imarama video comes with a printable QR code. Placed on a memorial card, a funeral program, a thank-you card or even a plaque, it lets anyone open the video with a quick scan of their phone. It's a discreet, lasting way to keep the memory within reach.
How to prepare your photos
- Gather photos from the family: childhood, wedding, travels, grandchildren. Phone photos — including the iPhone HEIC format — are accepted as-is.
- Scan important prints, or simply photograph them with a phone, lying flat in daylight.
- Put them in order — often chronological — by dragging them into the form.
- Pick the length: for a service, 20 to 50 photos usually make a video of a few minutes, ideal to be watched in full.
- Watch the free preview, adjust the style or order if needed, then approve.
Which package should I choose?
The Tribute package (up to 50 photos, $89) suits most services. For a very complete life story, the Complete package takes up to 100 photos ($149); for a short montage, the Essential package takes up to 20 photos ($49). Prices in Canadian dollars, plus tax, one-time payment, permanent hosting included. See all the details in the FAQ.
For funeral homes and families
Imarama requires no appointment and no production delay: a family can prepare the video the day before the service, from home or at the funeral home. The downloadable file can be played on site, even without an Internet connection, and the permanent link shared afterwards with the whole family.
